Cooking Wood for Restaurants, Pizzerias & Caterers

When you’re serving 40 covers and the oven isn’t doing what it should, the last thing you want to worry about is the wood.

At Ogs Logs, we supply high-quality kiln-dried cooking wood that’s consistent, reliable, and cut to perform in wood-fired pizza ovens, grills, and smokers. Whether you’re running a local pizzeria or a mobile catering setup, we understand that a dependable supply chain is as important as the ingredients on your menu.

We take that responsibility seriously. Our logs are seasoned and dried for optimum performance, providing steady heat and a clean burn — essential for fast-paced kitchen environments where reliability counts.

But consistency isn’t just about how it burns — it’s about getting it to you on time, every time. We offer flexible delivery options, including timed slots to suit your business hours or access restrictions. If you’re operating in a pedestrian zone, side alley, or tight urban location, we’re set up to navigate it.

Need a last-minute top-up ahead of a weekend rush? We’ll do our best to make it happen.

With over 20 years of experience, we also offer advice on log size, species, how to get the best results from your setup and everything in between. We’re not just delivering firewood — we’re supporting your service.

If you need a supplier who treats your business like part of their own, we’d be glad to work with you.

Wood is a carbon-neutral source of heat with the exception of transport which is why it was so important to us to find a local wood supplier. A couple of months later we met this charming chap, Mark Salanson who has a lumber yard based in Hassocks and will be supplying us with all our logs. He is a true old-school perfectionist when it comes to logs, using only ash & beech which he kiln-dries on site. This process takes around 4 to 7 days depending on the weather and Mark prides himself on not letting a single log leave the yard until the moisture content is perfect.

Sustainability with our Suppliers

  • We only source firewood logs from forestry contractors who have felling licences & manage the sustainability of their forests, eg The National Trust & large land owners.

  • We acquire trees which are a by product of wood grown for other purposes (eg, furniture). These are trees that have either been damaged by wildlife, or are ready to be thinned within the forest to improve biodiversity.

  • The management process removes dead wood & allows wildlife to flourish thus helping the eco-system.

Value for Money & Convenience

  • Our ready-cut & split firewood logs are sold in half cubic metre bags; We cut our firewood to smaller sizes (8¼ inches/210mm).

  • Smaller logs pack together more tightly in the bag, leaving less empty space between them. This means you’re getting more wood—and better value—compared to bags with larger logs that leave more air gaps. We can cut larger or smaller sizes depending on the size of your appliance.

  • Our delivery setup allows us to access tight streets and restricted zones, making it easy to supply restaurants and pizzerias in busy town and city locations with reliable, on-time deliveries — right to your premises.

Our Reviews

Dry Firewood is Happy Firewood

  • We kiln dry our wood to ensure it is completely dry. This is better for your appliance and chimney whilst also reducing maintenance and fuel costs.

  • By kiln drying our firewood logs we ensure no wildlife sets up home in amongst the wood (they don’t like kiln dried wood as it’s too dry as a habitat).

  • We use the waste derived from processing our logs, such as wood chips, sawdust and bark, to fire our kilns for our drying process.
